Container Packing with Rapid Changeover

Challenge

A container manufacturer with a plant dedicated to high variety, low volume container production was frustrated with the long changeover times inherent in standard packaging equipment. The marketing department was demanding more flexibility from the plant and its equipment.

Solution
A high speed 6-axis robot was used to meet the speed and agility requirements of the project. The robot, combined with fast-change container and case handling allowed dozens of different configurations to be packaged efficiently.
