Injection Mold Machine Unload
Challenge
This plant needed to speed production and reduce labor costs, but did not have the floor space or the budget for a fully robotic unloading system for their injection molding operation.
Solution
A custom-designed 2-axis robot was used to carry a gripper in and out of the machine and unload the part. Kinemetrix high-level use of 3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis allowed the arm to be built skinny & light, but strong. This linkage was less expensive and, most importantly, fit within the space constraints at the plant.
